Abstract

Nitrogen is the nutrient absorbed in higher quantities by bean plant and it is considered a quality element because it is part of all plants protein composition. The management and fertilization techniques are still the best strategy used to maximize the efficiency of N use and to permit that producers get the maximum profit from fertilizer use. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of N sources: urea, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate and poultry manure, in the same amount (60 kg of N ha-1) applied with or without incorporation, in covering (V4 phonological stage), on the production components and yield bean. This work also evaluated the leaf analyses to N, P, K, Ca and Mg. The experimental area placed in Palotina, Paraná, Brazil, was sowed in a Red Latosol (Oxisol), on October 19, 2002. The cultivar Iapar 31 was used and the harvest occurred on January 17, 2003. The experimental design was a complete randomized block in a factorial scheme 5X2, with four replications. The sources and application forms of N influenced the response of bean to nitrogen fertilization. The mineral sources ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate and urea, when applied with incorporation, provided greater contents of leaf N. The poultry manure without incorporation resulted in greater yield from common bean crop. The nitrogen mineral sources incorporation, always benefited the production components and the yield, when compared to the application without incorporation. Opposite side was observed to poultry manure.
