Abstract

In this paper data about erosion control will be presented and discussed. These data were achieved by integrated programs on soil and water conservation and management in watershed, which have been carried out in Rio do Campo since 1980. To achieve this objective a reduction estimate of soil lost was made after the work and this served as parameter to show the success of these environmental programs. Then, the approximated cost of erosion and the reduction of lost brought through correct agronomically management of soils were calculated. The results were extremely significant, and revealed a necessity to maintain and to enlarge the use of this innovation, which has contributed a lot to the sustainable regional development.
