The analyst, the snakes, and the alligator: humorous literature in brazilian redemocratization based on the work of Luis Fernando Verissimo

Here I analyze the literary production of Humor in the work of Luis Fernando Verissimo during the military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985). Priority is given to Luis Fernando Verissimo's work produced during the controversial period of democratic opening (1979-1985). I have structured my writing based on the following indicators: the chronicle in the historical-literary relationship, Humor, Brazilian redemocratization, and Luis Fernando Verissimo's relationship with these indicators. The sources that constitute this analysis are mostly chronicles and comics produced by the writer from Rio Grande do Sul. These sources, at least I hope, enable the understanding of Humor as a significant instrument of political resistance and social criticism when faced with authoritarian governments.
