interaction. Theprofessionalarenahassignificantlybeenreshapedasthere isaccelerationinadoptingnew
technologies,drivenbytheneedtoremainrelevantinthecurrentcompetitiveglobalmarket.Foranengineer
inggraduate, thedigital shift inthe industryhasheightenedtheneedtobeequippedwiththetechnological
competencysincetheyarerequirednotonlytounderstandtraditionalengineeringprinciplesbutalsotopos
sesstheaptitudetoworkwithemergingtechnologieswhichinturnenablesthemtoinnovate, solvecomplex
problemswitheaseandcollaborateeffectivelyindigitallyintegratedplatforms. However, theemployability
andsustenance inthe industry,fightingalloddsarenotguaranteedonlybyacquiringthehardskills.Tech
nicalcompetenceoncecomplementedbytheessentialsoftskillscanensureholisticprofessionalgrowthforan
engineeringgraduateresultingintoenhancedworkefficiencyandsustainedrelevance. TheEnglishlanguage
labsinengineeringcollegesacrossIndiacancatertotheseneedsbyeffectivedesigningofvariouslabactivities
suchasdebates, groupdiscussions, roleplays, powerpointpresentations just tonameafew. Inthis study
theauthorsadoptedtheAnalyticalHierarchyProcess(AHP)asadecision-makingtool toassessthe impact
ofdifferent labactivitiesandidentifythemost in-demandsoftskill inthecurrentprofessional landscape.
