Abstract

This study aims to understand the dynamics of the sugarcane sector in some municipalities of the Triângulo Mineiro region, as well think about the socio-cultural transformations that occur in traditional territories peasants. To construct this work we performed a literature review in books, theses, dissertations, academic papers and specialized sites. Regarding the concrete aspects of the study area, we did some field visits in order to analyze the changes caused by the expansion of plantations of sugar cane, as well as their implications for the peasants territories, its history and its cultural, socioeconomic and politicians aspects. We also consider the ways of life and its variations from the characteristics of the Cerrado, of the traditional communities and their specific productions.  In the field we approach of the rural communities, their socio-cultural forms and contents and also analyzed the territoriality and its implications on (re) organization of places.
