Abstract

The N and P₂O₅ effects on the variety bean BRS MG Talismã were studied in four field experiments in Lavras, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The experimental design utilized was randomized blocks with three repetitions, in a 4x4 factorial arrangement involving the P levels (0, 100, 200 and 300 kg ha^-1 of P₂O₅, triple superphosphate source) and the N levels (0, 70, 140 and 210 kg ha^-1 of N, urea source). The initial and final stands of the plants, the productivity of grain and the efficiency of utilization of N and of P₂O₅ were evaluated. The N and potassium associated resulted in small bean plant populations, and the P lessened that effect. The productivity responded to N and P₂O₅ increase, which varied according to the seasons. The maxim efficiency was obtained with N and P₂O₅ doses higher to those recommend for bean crop in Minas Gerais
