Two randomized complet block design experiments were carried out whit five treatments (stands), six replications and 1.7m2 per plot, at the Bragança Paulista Research Station - Sakata. It was done to know the better growing stand for germoplasm selection. AF 845 and AF 750 carrot F1 hybrids, were used for the respective following traits: 1(50, 60, 70, 90 and 110 plants/m2) and 2 (70, 90, 110, 130 and 150 plants/m2). For both experiments, a set of twenty-six plant characteristcs, yield and root qulity characteristics were evaluated. The characteristics plant vigor, root percentages (1 to 14cm and larger than 23cm), and refuese of roots, presented significante differences in the trial with AF845 hybrid. In the other trial (AF750), nine characteristics presentade significante differences. The results of this work showed that 90 and 110 plants/m2 were the better stands for AF845 and AF750, respectivelyDownloads
