Abstract

The experiment was conducted in Centro Técnico de Irrigação of the Agronomy Department of Universidade Estadual de Maringá in order to study the effect of irrigation frequency on the yield of fruits in pêra orange trees. The experimental design was entirely randomized with four frequencies of supplemental irrigation and six repetitions. The 60-day test began in the second half of September, 1998, just after blossoming. The number of fruits and the density of fruits per productive branch presented a quadratic relationship with the frequency of supplemental irrigation
