Abstract

Myofascial manipulation techniques can generate various biochemical responses in the human body, with repercussions on the emotional state, due to the myofascial system being richly innervated by interoceptors which, when stimulated, are capable of activating brain areas and can benefit physical and emotional health. Thus, the objective of the present study was to analyze the effects of self-myofascial release on the quality of life of general service providers. This is a case study, of a qualitative and quantitative nature and descriptive analysis, using the McGill Pain Questionnaire and the Short-Form Health Survey 36, in addition to a self-myofascial release protocol associated with exercises performed twice. per week with a total of 10 sessions, applied to 14 general service providers. The main results of the research showed a good dimension in the quality of life of the participants, mainly a good dimension in the physical capacity of the participants, which drew attention to the importance of an assessment of aspects involving the physical and emotional capacity of workers. Therefore, the research reinforces the idea of increasingly inserting therapeutic practices within organizations to reduce the negative impacts generated by repetitive work on workers in the general services sector, being a model to be inserted for other categories of professionals.
