Abstract

It is presented the use of digital images classification process captured in micro- morphological blades in the characterization of relative frequency of the constituents and the microfeatures identified in slope deposit. In all were twenty-six captured images of blades representative in the base of a sequence of three colluvial unities in the Basaltic Plateau – SW PR. For the classification of image was used  the SPRING 5.0  software and  it was proceed three patterns of classification by captured image: i) relative contribution of the constituents  - DRC (skeleton, plasma and void); ii) relative distribution of microfeatures  - DRMF (skeleton, void, voids depletion hypocoating, depletion microfeatures, impregnation microfeatures, dense infillings  and coating; and iii)  relative distribution of microfeatures by micromorfological process – DRMP (skeleton, void, impregnation microfeatures, depletion microfeatures and intrusive plasmic accumulations. The quantification of images results classification was a result of calculation of area by theme classes and the total area of image. Was established the percentages of theme classes based on the calculation of the area and application of parameters statistic for the individual data (arithmetical average, pattern deviation, coefficient of variance) and for data in class (arithmetical average and moda). As a result it was obtained an average of 2% of skeleton, 95% of plasma and 3% of voids. The plasmatic microfeatures are about 5% of void depletion hypocoating, 32% of depletion microfeatures, 50% of impregnation microfeatueres, 5% of dense infilling and less than 1% of coating. Joined by mycromorfological process it has been registered an average of 34% of depletion, 53% of impregnation and 9.5% of intrusive plasma accumulations. Finally, the used image analysis criteria  in this essay can be applied for similar analysis in pedological  cover.
