EDIMBURGO: UN REFERENTE EN POLÃTICAS DE PRESERVACIÓN PATRIMONIAL

El articulo analisa la experiencia de la ciudad de Edimburgo en la implementacion de medidas de preservacion de su patrimonio cultural. En un primer apartado se comenta la evolución histórica de la ciudad desde su fundación en el siglo XII. A seguir se mencionan las iniciativas desarrolladas desde el siglo XIX para la recuperación de edificaciones del centro histórico de la ciudad, identificando los principales actores, los objetivos y efectos de las medidas aplicadas. Abstract. The article analyzes the experience of the city of Edinburgh in implementing measures for the preservation of its cultural heritage. Firstly, the city’s historical evolution is described, from its founding in the 12th century.
