Abstract

Resumo. Este artigo aborda a questão do patrimônio cultural tomando como referência o caso de Palmares. Para tanto, inicialmente ocupa-se das origens etimológicas do conceito patrimônio e sua historicidade, e num segundo momento, propõe uma análise do Quilombo dos Palmares de modo a destacar a diversidade cultural aí presente, passível de ser apreendida a partir da pesquisa arqueológica. Abstract. Cultural heritage with special reference to the Palmares Quilombo is discussed. The etymological origins of Heritage and its historicity are investigated. An analysis of the Palmares Quilombo is given, highlighting the cultural diversity that existed in the place and which may be investigated through archeological research.
