Abstract

In post-Keynesian literature, Karl Marx's influence on the conceptual elaboration of income distribution and capital accumulation is fundamental. Important authors on the subject have sought to rescue this debate regarding the similarities between the Harrod-Domar economic growth model and Marx's capital reproduction schemes. The interpolation between the post-Keynesian conception of macroeconomics and the foundation of Marxist political economy is, therefore, a current topic and one of intense debate in the economic literature. The main objective of this article is to elaborate a literature review that balances recent advances and its main research difficulties, based on the works of Reuten, Trigg, Hartwig and Sardoni, that is, the research intends to bring up a macroeconomic approach “post-Marxist”. The conclusions point to a series of relevant epistemological problems in the cited contemporary authors, which, in this way, tend to redirect the research towards a more philosophical discussion on the subject.
