Abstract

Problems of indiscipline and violence in schools, highlighting some aspects of the socialization process on school premises within the context of mass society, are investigated. The author shows that the complexity of social, cultural, political and economic transformations provide new and different issues with the introduction of difficulties and challenges to forming education. These challenges are compounded
with the advent of the digital age and its consolidation in a mass and consumer society that tends to turn everything into a spectacle. Current society, set within contemporary capitalism, is characterized by contradictions and particularly governed by a logic that underscores exclusion, domination, exploitation, competition and control of individuals, since it destroys their autonomy. All the issues discussed in current paper reflect on the phenomenon of violence and indiscipline in the school from the educational, social, cultural and historical points
of view. Our theoretical reference is based on the Frankfurt School, especially the works by Adorno, Horkheimer and Benjamin.
