CHARACTERIZATION OF THE LANDSCAPE ATTRIBUTES OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF COMODORO-MT, AS A CONTRIBUTION TO THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE DYNAMICS OF AN EROSION PROCESS
Abstract
This work is an excerpt from the research developed in the master's dissertation, which has as its central purpose to characterize and monitor the evolution and erosive features of a gully located in the municipality of Comodoro–MT. The investigation starts from the understanding of the landscape as a dynamic and integrated system, formed by the continuous interaction between natural elements and anthropic actions, which directly influence the occurrence and intensification of erosive processes. In this sense, this study is dedicated to the detailed characterization of the landscape attributes in the investigated area, seeking to understand its organization and functioning. The objective is to present, in a contextualized and articulated way, the characteristics of the biotic, abiotic and anthropic attributes present in the landscape of the study site. To this end, bibliographic research was adopted as the main methodological procedure, complemented by documentary research, allowing the collection, selection and systematization of relevant information. Data relating to climate, geology, pedology, geomorphology, vegetation, land use and occupation, as well as the socioeconomic aspects of the area were analyzed. By organizing this information, it became possible to understand the dynamics of the different landscape components and their interrelationships, contributing to the interpretation of the spatial configuration of the studied area. In this way, the survey and analysis of landscape attributes offer theoretical and technical support for understanding the factors conditioning erosion, as well as for proposing strategies aimed at managing and mitigating the identified problem.
