Abstract

Understanding the perception and the performance of students on the use of technologies for teaching geography is a crucial step towards the consolidation and dissemination of new methodologies among teachers. The main contribution of this research is to deepen the understanding of the factors that affect student learning in the face of new technologies. A multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the data collected from 44 students in the class geography of the 3º year of high school in State College Teodoro Antonio de Oliveira, Campo Mourão, PR. The survey was conducted through a questionnaire adapted the scale of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), with the students' perception on usefulness and ease of use of the computer for research on search sites, creating videos and interaction in social networks to spread content. In addition, this study investigates the direct effect of acceptance of the technology by the students and their school performance on the subject demographics and their interconnections with the social context. The results suggest that the acceptance of technologies has a direct impact on student learning, moreover, it was found that those with computer training achieved better performance and that there is no difference in learning in relation to gender.
