Abstract

This work aims to understand how is the perception of the electorate in respect of power groups in Guarapuava-PR. The objective is to analyze how the political power groups are consolidated into three major power groups, solidified from traditional families in political power, namely Carli group, Silvestri group and Matos Lion group. These are the three families that alternate If the political power of Guarapuava. The methodology used for this research is grounded in the literature on the subject and the application of questionnaires to the guarapuavanos voters. With respect to the obtained results, it was found through the analysis of the set of questionnaires, the problems of designing constituency party policy, as derived from the lack of transformation and changes of local groups. This situation is not unique to Guarapuava, reflects also phenomena established in other Brazilian. For this, the perception of the electorate is that events like this are negative for partisan politics as a whole.
