About the Journal

Focus and Scope

MISSION: The "Journal of Veterinary Science and Public Health" is dedicated to the dissemination of scientific knowledge in all areas of Veterinary Medicine and Public Health.

SCOPE: The journal encompasses relevant areas of Veterinary Medicine, including basic areas (biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, histology/cytology, animal genetics, immunology, microbiology, and parasitology), applied areas of preventive veterinary medicine (etiological, immunological, molecular, and pathological diagnosis, infectious diseases, parasitic diseases, inspection, and epidemiological surveillance), clinical-surgical areas (procedures, treatments, clinical and laboratory diagnosis), animal production (animal welfare, facilities, and animal nutrition), and Public Health (inspection of products of animal origin and those used for animals, basic and applied sanitation, zoonoses, and anthropozoonoses).

Peer Review Process

Articles will be evaluated by two consultants from the relevant field of research, from national and international teaching and/or research institutions with proven scientific production. After necessary corrections and possible suggestions, the article will be accepted for publication if it receives two favorable reviews and will be rejected if it receives two unfavorable reviews. In the case of one favorable and one unfavorable review, the decision to publish or not will be made by the Editorial Board.

Periodicity

The journal is published online on a continuous basis starting in 2024.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Plagiarism Policy

All articles submitted to the Journal of Veterinary Science and Public Health will be evaluated using the Ithenticate platform - professional plagiarism prevention, in accordance with the guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), which aims to identify plagiarism or similarities with other publications. Articles with less than 75% unique content and/or more than 3% similarity with a single article will be returned to the authors.
