Interchange relations between Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina in the field of physical education and sports science: some reflections since the first voyage in 1945

Abstract

In 1945 Antonio Pereira Lira and Alfredo Colombo, both teachers of Escola Nacional de Educação Física e Desportos (ENEFD) visited Argentina and Uruguay. The aim of the visit was to know the peculiarities of Physical Education in those countries. The serch for interchange in Latin America was frequent at that time due to the influence of Pan-Americanism. Besides retrieving that event, the aim of this study is to identify the impact of the visit on ENEFD and Brazilian Physical Education, and some parameters which allow us to rethink and give new direction to the present-day realations between the countries involved.

    Possui estudos de pós-doutorado em Teoria Crítica da Cultura. É professor adjunto da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, atuando no Programa de Pós-Graduação em História Comparada/ IFCS, na Escola de Educação Física e Desportos e no Programa Avançado de Cultura Contemporânea. É coordenador do "Sport": Laboratório de História do Esporte e do Lazer (www.sport.ifcs.ufrj.br) e do grupo de pesquisa Anima (www.grupoanima.org). Atuou como coordenador do Instituto Virtual do Esporte e parecerista Ad-Hoc da Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, bem como parecerista ad hoc do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico. Colabora como pesquisador na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (grupo Greco) e na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (grupo Celar), e é professor do curso de especialização em lazer da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, bem como do recém-criado Mestrado em Lazer daquela instituição (como professor permanente). Atua como pesquisador colaborador na Universidad de Antioquia/Colômbia. Está envolvido com a organização de redes internacionais (Latino-Americanas, com recursos do Edital ProSul/CNPq, e Ibero-Americanas) na área de Estudos do Lazer e da Animação Cultural, sendo no momento Vice-Presidente da Red Iberoamericana de Animacion Sociocultural. Possui projeto de investigação sobre o Esporte na Ãfrica, desenvolvido com recursos do Edital CPLP/CNPq. As ênfases das suas pesquisas são: História do Esporte e das Práticas Corporais; Estudos do Lazer e da Animação Cultural e Estudos Culturais Currículo Lattes
