Abstract

This paper investigates how sport offers rules of behavior which justifies, approves and promotes sporting conquest. Therefore, it analyses what has been known as ‘Era Bernardinho’. Having a rationality based on the willing of the players to take certain actions during training, games and tournaments, the sport activity is seen as part of an ascetic practice, as it is related to rules, values and practices which identify people and take to themselves certain features.
