Abstract

Théodore Ratisbonne, the Jew who founded the congregation of
Our Lady of Sion, and his brother Alphonse, worked with the
conversion drive in Alsacia, in the XIX th century The charisma
covers three periods: a) the fathers adopt a conversional
approach up to 1925, the sisters, up to 1961; b) Since 1946, the
mission regarding Israel is about esteem and reconciliation; c)
From the Second Vatican Council on, sisters’ congregations start
to search for mutual knowledge and dialogue. The priests only
acknowledge the theological and apostolic implications of the
esteem attitude to the jewish-christian relationship in 1970.
