Abstract

The proper reflection to the History of Education Research Groups, formalized in Brazilian university institutions in the 1990s, ‘especially at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte’ is, in principle, an exercise of reconstitution by memory and writing of an academic culture of debates, studies, meetings and reciprocal interactions of researchers. The main purpose of the work was to analyze the situations of knowledge production in history of education and its theoretical and methodological assumptions, including, in part, the twentieth century and, in part, the twenty-first century. By this reconstitution, we noted that, from the beginning, the History of Education Research Groups, which bring together Brazilian and foreign researchers, present themselves for university institutions, for working groups and for scientific societies, as producers par excellence of knowledge of the history of education.
