Editorial Lines

1. Protection of Minorities and Vulnerable Groups

This editorial line aims to investigate and analyze the nature, historicity, foundation, and legitimacy of the protection of minorities and vulnerable groups, both in their state dimension (jurisdiction) and non-state dimension (alternative mechanisms). It seeks to understand the permanent demands of society in light of the increasing scientific and technological complexity and their relationship with the fundamental rights and guarantees of these subjects, which are legally defined and limited within a spatiotemporal context. Research in this area aims to propose new solutions tailored to the specific needs of such groups, often overlooked by traditional legal structures. Individual, collective, and meta-individual dimensions are considered, particularly concerning minorities and vulnerable groups. The materialization of these protections is understood as a continuous process, subject to progress and setbacks, requiring constant vigilance and critical, propositional, and evaluative approaches to the processes that legitimize or delegitimize these groups. Understanding the knowledge and practices that influence these processes is essential to identifying causes and potential solutions to problems, as well as preserving and disseminating successful experiences related to these subjects.

2. Emancipatory Phenomena

The editorial line on Emancipatory Phenomena is fundamental for understanding the complex social realities experienced by human communities. Despite its significance, this topic remains underexplored at the stricto sensu postgraduate level, highlighting the importance of this approach. The objective is to deepen the study of minorities and vulnerable groups, not only by identifying and defining them but also by establishing criteria for the knowledge and practices that enable the effective protection of their fundamental rights and guarantees. This critical, propositional, and evaluative study seeks to ensure that those not yet included or forgotten by institutionalized law and dignified social life have their needs met. The integration of knowledge, practices, and experiences produced by these subjects aims to track the consolidation of their movements toward political and social recognition, transforming their experiences into objective data that provide scholars with a comprehensive perspective on the problems and solutions that enhance the protection and participation of these minorities and vulnerable groups in the political and social life of the country. Thus, this line of research seeks to promote inclusion, well-being, and dignity under equal conditions in their struggles for recognition.
