Phenomenology as a research approach in nursing is provided and analyzed. The study investigates the basic problems of phenomenology and pinpoints human phenomena that may be focussed upon by this methodology. The humanizing aspect of science and its importance for nursing is highlighted as one of the characteristics of phenomenological research. This is due to the fact that nursing deals with people who require comprehension in the context in which they live.
