Abstract

This paper aims at outlining some aspects of the cultural sociology on the influence of the puritan ethics in the scientific community, and its contribution to the scientific and technological progress on the English economy of the 17th century. Studies by Merton, which relate Puritanism with science, show that the religious ethics was progressively being converted to favorable values to science.

Possui graduação em História pela Faculdade Auxilium de Lins (1996), graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1982), mestrado em Educação pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1995) e doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2000). Atualmente é professora Adjunto da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Tem experiência na área de Educação, com ênfase em Educação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: formação de professores, mídia na educação, tecnologia de informação e comunicação na educação e educação escolar Currículo Lattes
