Abstract

This paper analyses the transformation, which the Portuguese Nobility had been through during the Modern Age. Thus, it also discuss the changes that happen in a war, the rising of a court life and of new ways of social distinction, such as: luxury increasing, clothing normalization and treatment forms specifically to each nobility segment

Sezinando Luiz Menezes, UEM

possui graduação em História pela Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (1986), mestrado em História Econômica pela Universidade de São Paulo (1992) e doutorado em História Econômica pela Universidade de São Paulo (1999). Atualmente é professor associado do Departamento de História e do programa de pós-graduação em História da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Atua nas áreas de História Ibérica Moderna e História do Brasil Colônia estudando os seguintes temas: mineração, reformas pombalinas, colonização, indios, escravidão, jesuítas, engenhos, cristãos-novos e Antonio Vieira Currículo Lattes
