The research aimed at the analysis of the spaces where the children play in schools in the municipality of Maringá, in relation to the gymnic movements that they develop, seeking the understanding of their importance in the context of the school physical education. The study of descriptive character used as collecting technique the systematic observation during the lunch break, with the use of photos, films and field diary, which led to the purposed interpretation and categorization of the gymnic elements. The results indicate that gymnic elements permeate the play of children, but there is the responsibility of the school physical education in enabling the expansion of the universe of gymnastics knowledge.Downloads
