Abstract

The aim of this paper is first to define body culture, a constituent of Brazilian culture, as a totality formed by the interaction of such different social practices as dancing, games, gymnastics and sports, discuss its insertion in Physical Education and reflect on the teaching methodologies and forms of evaluation. Finally, there follows and analytical comment made on the bibliographical references.

    Possui graduação em Educação Física pela Universidade de São Paulo (1974) , especialização em Especialização Rel. Internacionais e Des. Social pela Universidade de Havana (1988) , mestrado em Educação: História, Política, Sociedade pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1988) e doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1999) . Atualmente é Professor MS - 3 da Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Tem experiência na área de Ciência Política , com ênfase em Políticas Públicas Currículo Lattes
