Abstract

The text relates the use and the potential of the school archives as source for the research in the area of the history of the education. It reflects on the necessity of the preservation of these collections, which must be preserved, the concept of the school archives and the legislation pertinent to their guard. It points some actions that have been developed by the researchers of this area of the knowledge who are aimed at this type of archive, keeping the necessary dialogue with the history, the archivistic and the computer science in mind.
