Abstract

The present work is about the contribution of Municipal Infantile Education Center Councils in Maringá, state of Paraná. First, a reflection about the historical, political and social conditions, responsible for the structuration to define public politics was made. It is possible to understand this site of articulation between state and society as one way to improve democratic participation. The analyzed items were: social-demographic profile, interaction between the councils and the municipal administration, the councilors' social capital and political path. There are councils in all education centers, bringing dynamism to the infantile educational area

Celene Tonella, UEM

Possui graduação em Ciencias Sociais pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1982), mestrado em Ciência Política pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1991), doutorado em Historia pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1997) e pós-doutorado pelo Programa de Ciências Sociais da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2002). Atualmente é professor associado do Departamento de Ciências Sociais e do Programa de Mestrado de Geografia da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Tem experiência na área de Ciência Política, com ênfase em Políticas Públicas e gestão urbana, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: democracia e participação, espaco urbano, cidadania, políticas públicas e trabalhadores Currículo Lattes
