Abstract

This article discusses an initiative to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Santa Catarina’s Education Reform of 1911. In doing so, it uses as a source the commemorative edition of the local educational magazine Revista de Educação, investigating it through the categories: ‘authors and collaborators’, ‘themes covered’ and ‘quotations’. It was intended to investigate the magazine’s devices of narration, politics and modeling of teaching practices (Carvalho, 2018), mapping the rhetorical resources, practices (Vidal, 2007) and the mobilized operations (Certeau, 2009, 1985). As final considerations, it highlights the narrative resources that established a continuity between the 1911 and 1935 reforms and that terminated a series of arguments between the political entities organized around the publication.
